This fabulous original photo coming straight from a presskit, is relevant to 'Escape from Sobibor', the mini TV-series directed in 1987 by Jack Gold, with Alan Arkin and Joanna Pacula. Rutger portrayed Lt. Alexander “Sasha” Pechersky.

The film tells the remarkable true story of a mass escape in 1943, from the Nazi death camp of Sobibor, located in Eastern Poland. For his role, in 1988 Rutger received the Golden Globe Award as Best Supporting Actor..
