Time

Soft we sit and ponder while
yonder fire flickers low
Outside, soft rains turn to mist
Seasons come and seasons go
Green leaves turn to gold then die
Naked trunks bow in the dawn
Dusky shadows here and there
Silhouettes of what is gone
Snowflakes fall, then melt away
Leaving footprints on the glen
Tomorrow new ones form and fall
A shadow of what's never been
If only I could STILL the clock
FEEL the wind, ENJOY the walk
FEEL the crisp morn, SMELL the scent
LISTEN to the Robin's call
TASTE the lushious fruits that grow
Instead of waiting til they fall
ENJOY the beauty of each day
LIVE each moment
GOOD or SORROW
FEEL EACH HOUR TICK AWAY
LIVE FOR TODAY,
NOT FOR TOMORROW
